AEMC L461 AC/DC Voltage Data Logger — 1-Second Trend Resolution for Distribution Monitoring and Solar PV

The AEMC L461 is the only logger in the L400 Series that measures voltage — and the only one that handles DC. It captures True RMS voltage measurements every second, giving you the resolution to document sags, swells, and fluctuations that longer-interval loggers simply average away. For solar PV verification, distribution auditing, or any application where voltage stability matters, the L461 provides the evidence other loggers miss.

Voltage Range & Measurement

With switchable AC/DC mode, the L461 covers virtually every voltage monitoring scenario in a single instrument. The 1200 V AC range handles single-phase distribution, inverter output, and utility feeds. The 1700 V DC range covers solar PV strings, battery banks, DC bus rails, and EV charging infrastructure. True RMS measurement with ±1% accuracy and 100 mV resolution ensures reliable readings across the full range. The unit is rated CAT IV 600 V, CAT IV 1000 V, and CAT III 1500 V DC — the highest safety ratings in the L400 family. Included safety leads and color-coded alligator clips are rated for the full voltage range.

Data Recording & Storage

All 1-second trend data is stored on the internal 8 GB microSD card (up to 200 recording sessions) and accessible through AEMC's free DataView® software for visualization, charting, and Excel export. Normal recording mode provides approximately 3 days of continuous 1-second sampling on AA batteries. Extended recording mode stretches battery life to approximately 10 weeks using 15-minute aggregation intervals — ideal for seasonal monitoring or long-duration voltage studies. USB power is also supported for continuous, uninterrupted operation.

Wireless Connectivity & Remote Access

Like the rest of the L400 Series, the L461 includes a built-in web server with Wi-Fi. In Access Point mode, it broadcasts its own network so you can connect from a phone or tablet, view live voltage, switch between AC and DC modes, and configure recordings through a browser — no app or software install needed. Station mode connects to your facility's Wi-Fi to enable DataViewSync™ for secure remote access from anywhere with an internet connection.
