Water Level Data Loggers and Recorders

Water level data loggers measure and record water depth and level over time, providing the continuous data record needed for hydrology research, groundwater monitoring, flood warning systems, irrigation management, and environmental compliance programs. These loggers work by measuring absolute or gauge pressure at the point of deployment and converting that reading to a water level value, typically with the aid of a separate barometric pressure logger used to compensate for changes in atmospheric pressure.

Available depth ranges span from 13 feet for shallow well and tidal flat monitoring up to 250 feet for deep groundwater and reservoir applications. Housing materials include plastic, stainless steel, and titanium — chosen based on the chemical composition of the water and the duration of the deployment. Loggers can be suspended on a stainless steel cable, secured to a line, or attached to fishing nets for long-term unattended deployments in streams, ponds, estuaries, and coastal environments.

Bluetooth water level loggers allow you to check water depths wirelessly from any mobile device without removing the logger from the water — ideal for well monitoring and frequent site visits. For remote or difficult-to-access locations, cellular-enabled MicroRX monitoring stations provide continuous cloud-based water level data via HOBOlink, with configurable alerts when levels exceed set thresholds.
