Monitoring Carbon and Exhaust Emissions with Data Loggers
Exhaust gas temperature monitoring is used to document emissions compliance with state and federal environmental regulations, optimize engine performance, verify the proper functioning of catalytic converters and exhaust aftertreatment systems, and identify developing issues in industrial combustion processes before they lead to equipment damage or regulatory violations.
Thermocouples are the industry standard sensor for exhaust temperature measurement due to their ability to withstand extreme heat and their compatibility with a wide range of data loggers. The monitoring process is straightforward: a thermocouple sensor is attached to or inserted into the exhaust manifold or flue, the logger records temperature readings at set intervals over the monitoring period, and the stored data is downloaded to a PC for review, reporting, and export.
MicroDAQ carries exhaust temperature data loggers from HOBO, Lascar, and Measurement Computing, with options ranging from simple single-channel USB loggers for dedicated monitoring of a single exhaust point, to the Measurement Computing WebDAQ series for internet-enabled multi-channel monitoring across multiple points simultaneously. Mineral insulated thermocouple probes and HOBO thermocouple sensor probes are available separately to complete your monitoring setup.
